Avril has established EUROLYSINE, a new company formed from the activities of the Metex group. The new entity aims to lead the fermented amino acids market and strengthen the animal nutrition sector.
Avril's executive team announced the formation of EUROLYSINE during a visit to its newly acquired sites in Amiens and Saint-Beauzire. This new company, born from the assets of the Metex group, will unify the activities under a fresh banner while preserving the legacy and expertise recognized in the fermented amino acids market since 1974.
Following the Commercial Court's acceptance of Avril's bid, in partnership with the SPI fund managed by Bpifrance, EUROLYSINE will be jointly held by Avril (55%) and the SPI fund (45%). "This name harks back to the company's industrial and commercial past," noted Avril's CEO Jean-Philippe Puig, emphasizing the project's ambition to restructure and secure the business's future.
Rudolph Hidalgo, who has led the restructuring since November 2023, currently manages EUROLYSINE. He will be succeeded by Eddy Feijen on 15 September. Feijen, with extensive international experience, is expected to drive the company towards new heights.
This strategic move by Avril not only aims to enhance the company's market position but also seeks to boost the long-term stability and development of the animal nutrition sector in France and Europe.
