A new animal nutrition
company backed by ADM and Alltech has begun operations across North America,
uniting more than 40 feed mills under a single structure. The joint venture
brings together established brands Hubbard and Masterfeeds while aiming to
strengthen scale, science and service capabilities in the region.
Akralos Animal Nutrition officially commenced operations on Feb. 1, following the completion of a joint venture between global agriculture leaders ADM and Alltech. The new company combines Alltech’s U.S.-based Hubbard Feeds and Canada-based Masterfeeds businesses with ADM’s U.S. feed operations, forming a unified platform focused on commercial feed and nutrition solutions.

Headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, Akralos operates more than 40 feed mills across North America and employs over 1,400 people. The company supplies feeds, minerals and supplements to livestock, equine, backyard and leisure animal markets, supported by research, laboratory facilities and integrated logistics capabilities.
“Akralos brings together proven scale, innovation and infrastructure with a deep commitment to service and results,” said chief executive officer Brian Gier. “From day one, our focus is on delivering nutrition our customers can rely on, support they can count on and partnerships that help their animals and businesses thrive.”
Chief operating officer Brad Dalke added that the combined strengths of ADM and Alltech will enable broader expertise and portfolio depth to support profitable and resilient operations.
Hubbard and Masterfeeds will remain core customer-facing brands, while portfolio alignment efforts are underway to leverage shared resources and operational strengths.
ADM and Alltech’s relationship dates back to 1980, when ADM became Alltech’s first customer, underscoring the long-standing ties behind the formation of Akralos.
