Critics about the importation of roughage are idle, said Nihat Pakdil, Deputy Undersecretary of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock. “A small amount of roughage was imported due to drought,” he stated.

The importation of roughage has been discussed in the Workshop of Ovine and Bovine Breeding, organized by Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.
Nihat Pakdil, Deputy Undersecretary of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, in his keynote speech, underlay the decrease in the rural population and increase in the city population. Pakdil also stressed that relevant studies are being performed to prevent the split up of agricultural lands. Accepting that a minimum amount of roughage was imported due to drought, Pakdil said “Although the amount of roughage importation is very low, they are trying to indicate this amount as much more. They are introducing this number as if all roughage in Turkey was imported. It is not the case.”
